Big Pink Event!

Hey guys!

So this week we decided to go to a kick off event for Relay for Life called the Big Pink Event. This was held on October 19th, 2016 in the Gemmell Rotunda from 5-7 pm. This event aims to raise awareness for Breast Cancer early detection/screening. You get to meet the committee, learn more about what Relay for Life is, and find out how to join in the fight against cancer.  Event participants can register for the spring 2016 Relay event this night only for a discounted cost of $5.

Students were able to come play fun games & hangout! For example, we were able to play a game called Fact or Myth; this game is a Q/A about cancer and if you get the question right, you win a prize! We also talked to some of the students who helped out with the event, and got to learn more about breast cancer. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, this was a great event to help get involved on campus and learn more about this find a cure.

We hope you all enjoy the video and hopefully try to go to this event next year!

Autumn Leaf Festival!

Hey everyone!

We wanted to share our experience of the annual Autumn Leaf Festival, or ALF for short. This year, ALF was held from September 24th- October 2 on Main Street. The whole road is filled with different stands containing amazing foods, crafts, clothes, antiques, etc. Also, there are many fun activities and carnival rides for all kids to enjoy!

Also, our parade is held on the last Saturday during the ALF week. Students, athletes, dancers, and our homecoming court are able to participate and be part of the parade.

For the entire week, thousands of people attend this event every year and Clarion always has a good turn out.  Autumn Leaf Festival is an event you cannot miss!

We hope you enjoy! :)

Miss CU Pageant!

Hey guys!

We decided to show you a special event that occurs every year here at Clarion University. We were able to watch seven beautiful girls perform in the Miss CU Pageant held in Gemmell's Multi Purpose Room. The contest was from 7-11 p.m. and all students and parents were able to get in for free.

The atmosphere looked amazing and the decorations were beautiful. As soon as the show started, each contestant showed off their business attire, talent, and answered Q/A's. Although we weren't able to stay for the entire show, we still had a great time cheering on the fabulous girls.

We just wanted to give you a little glimpse of how our night went, and we hope our video convinces you to try and go check out this special event next year!

We hope you enjoy! :)

This year, the event was held in the MPR room inside GemmellThere are over 130 student organizations, both academic and social. This helps students, including freshman, to become more involved on campus.

There are different types of organizations and activities , which include, intramural sports, Greek organizations, Student senate, and University Activities board.
(Examples: fraternities, sororities, student senate, UAB, rugby, golf, dance team, hip-hop dance team, flag football, etc.)

There are so many options for students to choose from! We want everyone to try to connect and get involved with the university as much as possible. Hope you guys enjoy the video!

Move In Day!

Hey Everyone! It's Gina and Kaela!

We wanted to welcome back all Clarion University students, and welcome all new incoming freshman to their first year of college.

We made this video to give incoming freshman some helpful tips and advice on how to make their move in day less stressful than it should be. We want to stress the fact that incoming students should NOT wait until the last minute to get what they need for their dorm room.  Make a list in advance for what supplies or products you need so you  can be organized and have everything ready for move in day.

We want our students, especially freshman, to enjoy the time they have left with their friends and family instead of stressing about what to get for their move in day. We want every student to feel at ease and have fun when it comes to living on their own for the first time.

We hope you have an amazing year! Do not be scared, you will have the best time of your life here at Clarion!

Senior Interviews

Hey everyone!

This is our last video of the semester and we wanted to interview a couple of seniors by asking them one simple question: "What advice would you offer to incoming freshman about college?"

We searched for different types of seniors to give us their honest opinions and suggestions on how to become a well-rounded student and be able to have a great time in college.

We were able to get to know the seniors and we had a fun time doing this project. Some seniors gave advice that was related to one another. A few gave short and simple answers while others gave much more. Each senior was able to give their own advice based on their own college experience.

We hope that many young students, especially incoming freshman, take their advice so they can prepare themselves for the new life ahead of them.
