Trivia Night!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Trivia Night!

Unfortunately, Gina was not feeling well, so I decided to go to the Den with my best friends. At this event, students can participate in "Trivia Night" by playing with a team of 2-6 people; but first, in order for your team to participate in this event, you each must buy something of your choosing at the den to play the game & by doing this, you will also receive a free drink.

Whichever team receives the most points by the end of the four rounds, will win a first place prize (which my team won!), and there are 2nd and 3rd place prizes as well. First place offers a goodie basket with 100$ worth of dining dollars; second place offers a goodie basket with 50$ worth of dining dollars; third place offers a pepsi- prize basket! You can also raffle to win a flatscreen tv!

We hope you enjoy the video! :)

Our Interview With The Struts!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to our interview with The Struts! We got the chance to sit down with the four band members and ask them a couple questions for our very own blog/vlog.

The Struts are an English rock band from Derby, Derbyshire; the band consists of vocalist Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies. We don't want to give you too much information on them, that is why we want you all to watch our video first!

We had an amazing time with these awesome men and we can't thank them enough for letting us interview them before the show! They also put on an incredible show by opening up for Nelly!

We hope you enjoy the video! :)

CU invites Alison Bechdel!

Hi everyone!

We recently went to an event that was held in Hart Chapel, where there was a speaker who came in named Alison Bechdel. Alison Bechdel is a famous cartoonist known for her comic strip, "Dykes to Watch Out For", and the development of the Bechdel test. Also, she was known for other accomplishments in her life including her graphic memoir, "Fun Home", winning a Tony Award for Best Musical. She has won more than one Tony Award and multiple awards as well.

Just being able to listen to her and her background was truly amazing. She has come a long way in her life and we believe she is a true inspiration to a lot of people. We are very happy we were able to see her speak and if you weren't able to see her, we hope one day you will take the opportunity to go listen to her story.

We hope you enjoy the video!

Prepping for CampusFest!

Hey guys!

So we made a little fun video about how we are prepping for CampusFest! CampusFest is an event held every year here at Clarion University where there are musical performances or comedians who come to perform for our students. In the past we have brought musical acts such as Wiz Khalifa, Lee Brice, Mac Miller, Ludacris, T-Pain, The Band Perry, and much more.

This year we are excited to announce that Nelly will be our main performance for this years CampusFest! The band called the Struts will be opening for him as well. The performance will begin at 7:30 pm but the gates open at 5:30 pm. Tickets are free for Clarion University Students and are being sold to the public for $30.  Students will have to show their student I.D. at the gate on the day of the event or will be charged $30 to get in. So don't forget your I.D.'s!(:

We are so excited to see Nelly perform and go with our friends, including our mom and aunt! We have listened to Nelly since we were little and we are just so happy he will be here at Clarion University.

We hope to see all of you at CampusFest!

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to a special event held here at Clarion University called Walk A Mile In Her Shoes. This event spreads awareness to help prevent sexual violence against women; it was held in Gemmell MPR, on April 12th.

Any man/woman can participate in this event by walking a mile around campus in support of this cause. The men who participate in this cause have to wear women's heels and walk the entire mile in these shoes.

This was our very first time going to this special event and we truly are amazed on how many people encourage such an important principle, not just toward us women, but also towards other men who have faced sexual violence. If you missed out on the event this year, please attempt to go out and participate next year!

We hope you enjoy!

Let's Play Heads Up!

Hey Everyone!

This vlog is a little different than our usual posts. We wanted to show you a casual, relaxed video by playing a fun game called "Head Up" with a couple of our good friends. This video shows the college student side of us where we want to enjoy the little things while handling superior responsibilities (whether that includes: studying for exams, heavy workload, keeping organized, etc.).

This game is similar to the games Catchphrase and Charades. One play is supposed to hold their phone up to their forehead and play the category they picked. The other remaining players have to help the guessing player figure out what is shown on their forehead; the players can say or act out anything they wish to, but they cannot say or repeat the word shown on the guessing players forehead.  This game has unlimited amount of players, and the goal is to see which player receives the most correct answers. The person with the most correct scored wins the entire game.

We always have a good time playing this game with our friends and we wanted to show you how our night usually goes playing this fun game. We hope you enjoy!

The Week Of Giving!

Hey Guys!

So we decided to film an exciting event known as the Week of Giving. One event held with this is called "Coin Wars." Coin Wars is held in Eagle Commons where students are able to donate money to give back to the student emergency fund. The student emergency fund helps any student who has a family emergency and need money to help get home or if a student has low income. Each student class competes with one another and whichever class ends up with the highest positive total gets to throw a pie in President Karen Whitney's face!

Another event, held in Gemmell, is called "Thanks a Donor." Any student can walk in and sign a big white sheet with your name and also a thank you card that thanks donors who participated in this amazing cause. If you sign the thank you card, you have the option to take home a free piggy bank!

This is a great event that encourages students helping students. If you didn't get to participate this year, we highly encourage you to do it next year. This is a great cause!

We hope you enjoy:)!

Laser Tag!

Hey guys!

Welcome to laser tag! This event was held on March 3rd, in the MPR of the Gemmell Student Complex. This event lasted from 6 p.m until 10 p.m.

Clarion students wait in line to be submitted into the MPR in the selection of 8 students at a time. During each game of laser tag, the students are split into two teams or can face each other individually and receive only one winner from the battle. Each battle lasts until each player runs out of his/her life span; if a player gets hit 12 times, that player is dead and out of the battle. Each student can go back in line as many times as they wish to, until the event it closes at 10 p.m.

This event was very exciting and enjoyable to watch and participate in. We met so many fun people and we definitely recommend those who missed out this year to definitely go next year.

We hope you enjoyed!
